Sri Rangin Mukherjee
Sri Rangin Mukherjee is a yogi and practitioner of Kriya Yoga, an ancient spiritual technique that fosters inner transformation and enlightenment through conscious breathing and meditation. Born and raised in India, he was introduced to the teachings of Kriya Yoga at a young age and dedicated his life to studying this discipline.
He was a close disciple of Sri Gyanendra Nath Mukhopadhyay, who was himself taught by Swami Pranabananda, also known as "the Saint with Two Bodies" (a title given by Swami Yogananda). Swami Pranabananda was renowned for his mystical abilities and his deep connection to the teachings of Lahiri Mahasaya (Shyama Charan Lahiri), the master who made Kriya Yoga accessible to laypeople. Before Lahiri Mahasaya, this practice was reserved exclusively for monks.
Sri Rangin Mukherjee gained recognition through his books on the original Kriya Yoga according to Lahiri Mahasaya. Swami Pranabananda, one of Lahiri Mahasaya’s most advanced disciples, passed on his complete knowledge to Sri Gyanendra Nath Mukhopadhyay, who in turn passed it on to his disciple, Sri Rangin Mukherjee.
His teachings place particular emphasis on perfection in practice and the importance of preserving Kriya Yoga in its original form.
In his works, he provides detailed descriptions of Kriya Yoga techniques and explains step by step the path to enlightenment and spiritual realization.
The primary motivation of Rangin Mukherjee in spreading this knowledge was his concern that this ancient treasure of India might be lost.
A central concern of Sri Rangin Mukherjee is summarized in the following quote, which emphasizes the importance of authenticity in the practice:
